    Euro Show n Shine 2012

    Euro show n shine 2012

    Hi guys,

just thought i would let everyone know about the upcoming event in SA.

Eurofest Show & shine 2012 - december 2nd @ National Motor Museum, Birdwood.
Presented by BMW Driver's Club of South Australia.

more details can be found here: Eurofest 2012

This is the second year for this event, last year we had over 100 cars on the lawns behind the motor museum, including Porsche's, Volkswagen's, BMW's, Mercedes etc.

It was a sensational day out! being able to interact with fellow enthusiasts, make new friends, get close up to some beautiful cars and wander through the Motor Museum.

there are multiple categories for judging with the show and shine, not everyone has to be judged, you can just park on the lawns with all the other cars if you want.

We also had people make the trip from interstate, hopefully we can lure a few more people over!

    details:
    -December 2nd 2012
-11:30am @ Birdwood motor Museum (cruise from tea tree plaza at 10:30am)
    -$20 vehicle entry onto lawns
$25 vehicle entry with entry to museum
$30 vehicle entry, Museum entry and Show & shine entry
-BBQ & 'Cafe 2 U' available on grounds, short walk to shops and bakery.

if you could register before the day that would be greatly appreciated to help the organizers prepare for the day or at least express your interest, entries are available on the day if you decide at the last minute (i think, this was the case last year)
entry forms are available on the website.

here are some pics from last year:

get those entries in guys, register through the link below:

I think Dad will be taking our race car out. I know that he is interested in it. It will simply depend on his work commitments.
Do what you enjoy and never stop learning.

    Sweet,

I am not sure that I have mentioned, there is a big possibility that Adelaide BMW and Opel are going to be there to present there cars and some more tuning companies as well. details will be confirmed by next committee meeting.

its going to be much better this year and much more organised as well.

    put your entries in.

As a member over on Opelaus, we also have pretty much heard directly from the dealership that Adelaide Opel and BMW were extremely interested in appearing at the event.

I myself will be going to Eurofest again this year, but it won't be in the E30, as I'll be pushing to have it well enough sorted by then. Taking the Corsa GSi instead, along with a few other guys from OA. We had three of us there last year, but looks like we could be dragging along a couple more this year. As a whole, I can see this event being a lot bigger this year. Hell, my sister and her other half will probably go in her E34 525i.

    1984 BMW E30 318i - Currently undergoing M42 swap
1994 Opel Corsa B GSi (Holden Barina SB) - 1.8 Z18XE swap completed
    2000 Opel Vectra B wagon - C22SEL rebuild planned
2010 Hyundai iLoad - iLoad of crap on wheels.

From our cruise on Saturday and visit to Adelaide Opel, the salesperson told us they had sold 5 cars in the first month. As far as I know, none of these people are members on OA. This pretty much means all current SA members have older Opels which were rebadged as Holdens, except one who has a privately imported Vauxhall Astra panel van. But yeah, we're all looking forward to this years event for sure.

ouch - 5 sales is hardly lighting up the sales charts. I did see an Astra OPC on the road the other day though.

I'll try and get there in my e30. Work will have quietened off a bit for me by then, so it sounds like it should be a good day.

Yeah, I think it's a bit of an uphill battle for Opel though (although, as many as 150 cars were sold in the first month Australia wide), as much as they use the link they have with Holden, they kinda need to shake it off too. Can't say you would've seen the OPC model though, they're not due here until at least sometime next year.

I enjoyed going last year and I thought it was a larger turnout than expected, even some people travelled across from Victoria for it. So yeah, it will be another cracker this year, especially if it's good weather, which it should be.

I should have snapped a pic... I just assumed they had been launched!

It must have been an evaluation vehicle for Opel Aus or something because it was definitely an OPC - I sat behind it up North East Road for quite a while, then over took it. Had the OPC badge on the tailgate, and the full bodykit - looked pretty accurate if it was a mock up.
