TCD Turbo Kit for my 535i e34

    Hey fellas,

So it looks like im going to purchase TCD partials rhd turbo kit, kit includes the following:

So ill have to fab my own exhaust, route my own intercooler piping and intercooler and order some injectors to suit. Ill also order the rising rate fuel regulator and tcd turbo chip, it will also come with an o2 clamp.

At the moment im only aiming to run 10psi on a bog stock m30. Hp aim is not very high but apparently 280rwhp is attainable which is pretty good with a basic kit.

anyways what are your guys thoughts? only reason why i don't mind paying the premium is because everything is there and everything is new.

    It's a tricky one.

The m30 is an dial candidate for boost and the tcd kit has a pretty average old tech manifold and turbo.

There is heaps of room in the e34 and personally I'd run like a 666fsbricstion top mount manifold or more than likely the obx t4 copy as its about $300.

I'm no expert but something similat in size to a falcon turbo gt3582 would make a pretty easy 400rwhp at moderate boost levels. Run perhaps a mega squirt ecu sOme bigger injectors a wast gate and reverse the direction of the throttle body and away u go. It's a pity u ain't in Victoria is there is someone here who could sort it drive in drive out for pretty reasonable cash.

The other consideration point is to use a common as muck holset hx-40 turbo 2nd hand and then down the track use the expensive but good garret ball bearing gt3582 or something. I rekon a drive in drive out budget of say 2-3k in parts, 5-6 k when u add labour etc would get u an honest 400rwhp and it would be a weapon in the e34 as it could handle it no worries. Prob need to have lsd if u don't already and prob an upgraded clutch and something like a Bosch 044 fuel pump.

Have you checked the comp. ratio on the m30? May have had the head shaved in the past and adding 10psi may give you trouble.

    That's the reason I didn't boost my 535i

Don't use the stock ecu with a chip, get a stand alone. It'll be easier to tune and probably make more power. Also a rising rate FPR isn't needed unless you get an ecu/chip that is pre-tuned for it.

RIP e30 Bring on the boost with the S/C e34 535i

Yes these are all very valid suggestions, for the time being im happy to run just their chip and rising rate fuel regulator just to get me running. A year or so later on ill build my spare engine and then go stand alone ecu and the bells and whistles.

If you do it, make sure you keep us informed!

One day when I find myself with a Land Cruiser Prado as a daily driver I'd like to turbo my e34 just so I have an excuse to hang onto it.

Did you see this ad on Boostcruising? I would have posted it if I had seen this earlier. Looks like he has some cool parts there. Either way that TCD kit should be a good start. http://www.boostclassifieds.com.au/a...-for-Sale.html

Oh man, i msged that fella ages ago and he didn't want to split the kit as he wanted to sell it with the car. Meh but it isn't a complete kit with all hardware/gaskets/wastegate i guess. The miller stuff would be good.

Yeah the MAF conversion + Miller smart fan would be awesome if he would do it separate. Those Miller smart fans run straight off the ECU, would be a good upgrade if he would part with it for a reasonable price.

smaller exh housing and it's good, 18cm is fine if you want to run lots of boost. I only upgraded because I wanted both... more response, more boost and more power

Hx 35 is prob better. If u modify this one then it's not a cheap turbo

I was originally going to go with a hx35 when i first decided to go turbo as they are pretty robust and alot of people seem to get good power from them.
