Stoney, I can recommend the aluminum throttle bushes. I bought them of Tom with the cat pressure adaptor for the postage price the US market paid. The throttle slop was gone, especially when engaging/disengaging the cruise control, the transition is seamless. The reason I bought them was the original items were crumbling from life under the hood and the OEM prices were ridiculous.

Btw Chris, how did you go with the broken valve cover stud?

Hi, NOT ALL people (didn't use the word DRIVER on purpose - not many left) behind the steering wheel of a BMW are Tech's like you & me.
Since BMW "dropped" the dip stick guess what happened............ They had suddenly lot less transmission failures due to nuff nuffs not being able to touch it anymore, over and under filling the trans, using wrong type fluid even water or brake fluid.
Plumber & electricians need licenses but everyone can "screw" around on cars & play with peoples lives......

Have to admit, it's a double edged sword. And don't you know that people have the RIGHT to damage their cars as they see fit?

i guess, as being a mechanic myself, i cant comprehend why people are so stupid when it comes to cars, seeing as it comes naturally to me

but i used to witness it every week, someone over filling the oil, water in the oil, changing a wheel and putting the lug nuts on backwards, the list is endless

HOWEVER, i just bought the aluminium bushings, and i'll let everyone know how they go, once i have fitted them

When I worked as a removalist (many years ago) one of the drivers admitted he had filled his diesel truck at the super pump.

Wow, so lucky i saw that link for those aluminum throttle bushes, i just installed ITBs and I keep fidling around with the worn rubber bit because the cable is not returning (not closing the throttles all the way). Thanks Stoney

i fitted mine the other week, nice improvement over stock, maybe the circlip could be a fraction tighter, but once adjusted it feels much better, even the cruise has lost some of its surging it felt like it had before, worth the money

I took it for a quick drive, but I dont think I noticed any difference. I never had the problem with surging cruise control though.
