Anyone going to Winton test & tune this Friday the 3rd of Sept?

    Hi all,

I'm going to head to the Winton test & tune day this Friday - is anyone else going up?

I've looked on the site and it seems pretty good value for the day and also seems like no fuss.

Haven't been before so if someone else is going and wants to drive up or there's a group going that i could join would be good.

    I've got an E36 M3.

    Cheers!

i was there two weeks ago - did 8 laps in a real V8 race car

3 hours drive for 10 minutes track time was just a tease tho, wish i could make it but week days are out at the moment

Who's running the sprint day on Sunday.

What looks a better weather day Friday or Sunday. Although it's fun in the wet it's not the best for fast laps.

I've purchased a helmet today - i'm in for Friday. They say that there's a chance of rain but i don't think that will impact too much. I think it will just be cold more than anything.

Besides, even if IF it does rain, it will mean less people and more track space / time.

    Anyone else coming?

can you just turn up and register on the morning or do you have to register or something in advance

Fair enough. I'd go to deca but my tires are too good and I don't have replacement wheels. You can just turn up to winton. No reg necessary. Hope to see you there.

At Wakefield last weekend there were sports sedans wheelspining down the straight through all gears... And the track was dry but track temp was something like 10 degrees!

I've just checked the forecast and it won't be raining during the day - the may be some rain in the late evening. It's a top of 17 / 18 tomorrow so should be good.

The day was good weather wise. Not overly crowded but enough diferent levels of xar to keep you on your toes. It's good to sort out a few handlng issues and by end of day wad not to bad. The toyo888 have high straigt line grip but not much sideways grip so IMO they are about 2 sec a lap worse than the hoosier's

nice to meet rudi there (fun in the sun)

Echo that- had a ball the re001 potenzas were at their limit and bounced around a bit. Thanks to Gaz's great advice tho it got better as I reduced tyre pressure consistently each time we went out. The new gtr is not as good as they say - it's better. What an absolute monster of a car.
