Ive been following the build of the XR6 Turbo that is basically a old Fujitsu seire V8 Supercar![]()
Couldn't find a thread anywhere about this... anybody from here going along? I know it's pretty much all jap cars but should be a good spectacle and some very serious weaponry will be there. I'll be competing in open class with the evo. Come and say hi if you're coming along.
Adam Laura is competing in clubsprint in his e30 m3, should be interesting to see how he fares against all the evos and skylines.

ill be there . in the e30 or a ae86
cant wait.
Not going, a fair few of the Advan boys run out there from memory, although maybe they are just sticking to Targa/Bathurst this year. Not too sure, by all accounts it supposedly a good, fun event.
Just checked the entry list, they are going. They'll be out there in a few quick R32s.
Not much point in people going for the outright IMO, Mark Berry's already got that sorted with his R34.

^^ Are you talking about Craig Burgess and John Bright? I know them quite well and yes they will be stiff competition for me in open class. Their R32's are rockets.
shame i'm not still up there, would have went for a look for sure.
Gooooone
Didnt Peter sell the purple 33? That thing was mint.
Be interesting to see Cyber Evo goes! Basically, the EVOs have dominated for the last 2 years.
Last year, the HOR R34 GTR has had problems getting the power to the ground, let's see how it goes this year.
I should be there at Superlap anyway...
Yes, bright And burges. Peter Hopkins built my GTR, I believe it's running around the targa events at WA now.
Berry's R34 was purpose built for supersprints, it smashed everything by miles at Bathurst last year, nothing else came close
Yeah Berry's car will definitely be up at the top but there are some very serious competitors coming from o/s - Cyber Evo, Sierra Sierra evo just to name two, Berry will have his work cut out and it's not like he has a thousand laps on his competition being a Qlder, would be lucky if he's done 100 laps of EC. A few of the Jap/US teams are sending their drivers over weeks in advance for training with John Boston, they'd be here already clocking up track time so there will be no home track advantage.
My car is up on the Superlap website: http://www.superlap.com.au/2009/?p=3513
Nice write up, and well presented car. Good luck.
Well i'm packing up work for the day now and will be at EC tomorrow bright and early for superlap practice, followed by the event on Fri/Sat, it's going to be 3 big days of motorsport! Can't wait.
If any members see me about, say g'day, it's the white/black evo 9 with Sonic Interactive down the sides.
Word has it today the Sierra Sierra evo did a 1.35 in practice with only half a dozen laps under their belt, fark me. Having rained for the last 3 days just think what they could do with a fully dry track and some rubber down...
Should be a spectacular event, just hope the rain keeps away for the promoters and spectators benefit.
have a good one mate. best of luck for it all.
probably see you down there on sat.
Not this time he hasnt.

Nice work today Sonic, saw you car cutting some quick laps!
Also saw the E30 out there, quite impressed by the times it was running too! It got down to a 1:48! Certainly showing a few of the boosted Japs up!
Not to mention it was easily the best sounding car of the day...
