Xmas QLD Border Ranges run 13th Dec 09

Well it started out as a hot muggy day. We met at Calamvale Hotel for an 830am departure which turned into a 9am departure due to Rory getting a flat on the way to the meeting point. Anyway after that we were on our way.

Leading the pack driving my sisters new MkV GTI Golf, I had some stupid young woman pull out in front of me almost ending our day prematurely. Thankfully after driving in Saudi for 18 months, I am ready for any idiot to cut me off anywhere and saw it coming, and the Golf's ABS worked flawlessly as well. We met up with the Gold Coast bunch at the Beaudesert meeting point and headed off on the run. It was a great day for it, with no rain, and only a few minor mechanical hicups that those people can fill us in on.

Anyway here are the few photos I got when we stopped in the usual park area. These are all the photos I took. If anyone wants the hi res originals of their car, PM me your email and I'll send them, just give me details of which photo.

Thanks to all that attended and it was a great way to kick off my time back in Oz.

Thanks for the cruise guys, it was bloody good fun. The pace was really intense at some parts and I only just managed to hang on. I'm really happy how she managed too, the engine was barely warm and didn't struggle once. That was such a great road too, lots of fun.

Thanks again guys, i shall be there next time for sure.

    Was a great day.

I think Rory and Niall ended up with the Irish Luck of the day...lol

Otherwise well and truelly showed me where I need to improve on the RS Cossie...like the back suspension needs tightening up, and change of oil, as tappets were giving the the s*&ts...but all in all car performed well after bring off the road for so long

Looking forward to a Autumn/Winter cruise for those lacking air-con on the day...right Dave!!

I agree totally was a great cruise although I never want to see a wooden bridge again. Thanks Wayne for waiting at turns for us to catch up. Looking forward to next time.

I saw him trying to fly with his arms out the window on the way back along the highway thinking is it that hot, or is Dave trying amuse the rest of us?
