    Shannons German Autofest 2009

Where: Lawns of the National Library on the edge of Lake Burley Griffin, Parkes ACT

    When: 20-Sep-09 10:00 AM until 03:00 PM

Visitor entry is Free. Food & Drink Available on site. Sponsored by Shannons Insurance.

A celebration of German Automotive Engineering & Design: Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Porsche & Volkswagen

Each car club conducts their Concourse D' Elegance. There is also an Entrants Choice award for each marque represented and for best overall vehicle, a representative from the German Embassy will present the Entrants Choice and Ambassadors trophies.

I can only speak on behalf of the BMW Car Club ACT. Entry to the club's show 'n shine is open to members only (trophies involved) however, anyone is welcome to display ($10 entry to cover organiser's costs NOT the car club); but this will also include lunch for the car owner. You will need to have your car in place by 8.30 am. Please PM me (your name, model, contact phone and email) if you wish to attend - unfortunately due to space allocation by the organisers, the club may not be able to accomodate your car if you just show up on the day.

Rolfe Classic BMW will have a range of new cars on display - including the new Z4, X6, M3 variants, new 7-series, 1-series variants.

    Cheers,
    Jon

Just to let everyone know that Greg and I will be at the German Autofest with the traveling CCP roadshow – this Sunday 20th September.

We will have our display at the show selling most of our range (it is getting tough to fit everything in now). And can bring down specific orders for customers who order before Friday night. We will also be able to answer any detailing or car care related questions and would love to meet any members on the day.

    Cheers,
    Mike

I think the Disco should go in favour of a 3-car transporter.
Good for bikes and cars then. And a place to bunk down during events

    Haha
Nah. That's actually an awesome tow truck. And only cost me $5k two years ago. Great for the dirt bikes, off road and unbelieveably - reliable!
I'm looking at an enclosed Jayco caravan / bike trailer at the moment too

The S2 picked up Peoples Choice Award for best Audi which was great. And I still think the M3 convertible is drop dead gorgeous. I will be genuinely sad to see that one go after 2 1/2 years of joy. If it's not raining, top is down. Including through 2 below freezing Canberra winters! (I'm not here because I'm clever!)

    Cheers

I must admit that M3 was always on my list of most desirable cars - but was beyond my budget.
I only came across my Audi by accident and it was the quattro that hooked me.
I had been looking at several AWD options including RS turbo Liberty and the AWD Ford Laser Turbo. (Please dont flame me over non-euro)

    Nice work on the award.
I am worried about the trailer - will it be able to fit enough cars to avoid these choice dilemmas?

Soz - no photo's from me - we got burgled recently and they took both cameras.

Hey Karl - you aren't the only one who drives the convertible in any dry weather available.

    Some photos

A little self-indulgent but the only photos I took on the day were of two certain E36 M3s - mine and Karl's!
