    Fail time

I recently bought a viscous fan hub as mine was useless, got it off a member on here, oh well, waste of money

Its a piece of shit, but it will do the job its intended of doing, keep the cars temp at half in city driving, but it sounds like an early 80's falcon with a fixed fan,

Just another reason to attach the Elec fan i have sitting on my toolbox soner than later, i might just wire it up to a switch, as the A/C one never let me down, apart from bumper to bumper driving

Also swapped out the tinted lights on the rear to stock ones again, i can just see someone rnning into me, and due to the lights being illegal, i would've got raped by insurance - not worth it

Today involved a complete brake fluid flush along with changing the lines to braided ones i got from the USA - DOT approved

didn't realise until i had done the fronts that there was 4 lines on the rear, and i only had two lines left, oh well

however it was a good thing i changed the lines, as the front ones were shot, outside hose has perished and torn on one side and was badly bubbled on the other

also got some Meguiars leather conditioner, generously applied that to my seats and dad's range rover too, gonna let it soak overnight, and apply more in the morning, it soaked it up very easily

also painted my rotors and calipers while i had the wheels off, i cleaned the wheels in and out properly too

    washed the car

adjusted the wiper arms for better tension, a lot less jumping of the wiper arm across the screen now

just getting as much done to the old girl before the permanent move to Sydney on sunday

Not much to report on the old girl, has more rego on it as of a few weeks ago, and i have just completed some more repairs

The tailshaft was vibrating really badly, so i took it off the road, and pulled it apart, found that the auto gearbox mounts has split completely and were doing nothing, and that the front uni on the tailshaft was frozen solid and busted.

Luckily i had a spare e34 parts car at dads house (500km away) and some great mates who were willing to remove the other shaft and send it here, so i ordered some new gearbox mounts, and got to work fitting the parts car tailshaft - good thing about the spare shaft, was that it has been rebuilt at some stage not too long ago, regreasable unis, new looking centre bearing, so fitted it all up, and its so smooth now! i guess the gearbox mounts have been rooted for a long time

also serviced the car, adjusted the valves (all were a little too tight) and lookied into a few rattles in the dash and sunroof cavity, no luck there, they are still doing my head in

also just ordered a set of bosch design 3 injectors from the US, so my cleaned, flow tested, and rebuilt stock M30 injectors will be up for sale (only done 20thousand kms on them)

next mod might be to lower the rear a little, the rake is too much for my liking

Great, on the drive over to check the new e34 i just bought, i realise my cars smoking whenever i come to a stop, check underneath and the auto's leaking fluid from the rear main seal on the box, i never touched it in the conversion, but can only assume that the loading on it when undoing/tightening the tailshaft bolts has aggrevated the seal enough for it now to piss out fluid, F#$$ %!@$ %@ #$% aaargghh

after driving the manual M20, i def want manual in my car now, what to do, what to do

replaced the standard injectors with ford 19lb design 3 ones, completed in 30mins, car idles much better, has a much cleaner feel to it with general driving around, cleaner smoother take off, haven't given it a boot full yet, but initail impressions seem like they were worthwhile

did a quick polish of the 16" racing dynamic rims today, came up much better than expected

I really need to take new photos of the car, a project thread is boring without pics, i hate reading, but i think i keep this updated for my own personal benefit more than anything

Most recent work to the car, consists of buying another E34, this time a manual 525i in the same colour, i will swap what panels are better from it to mine, which is just the front grill setup and the passenger rear door, as mine is keyed, and keep its wheels then sell it off

I'm also about to start repainted all the trim pieces, bought the parts required, K@H bumper trim black, prepsol, sand paper, so that along with refitting the fog lights with their HID's and a good detail will make it a much cleaner car to look at again

Just fixed the oil leak from the auto, changed the extension housing seal and did an auto servie including new filter, or so i thought i fixzed the oil leak, the next day, same problem, so i research into it more and discover that there is a breather tube on the top of the auto extension housing, and it can crack which in turn causes the auto oil tho leak out over everything, so i now need to order that part and fix it, then she's up for sale, yep, i'm gonna sell the car

What is a reasonable price for a good condition e34 535i with rebuilt top half of motor, all fluids changed regularly, braided lines, new brakes, new control arms, relatively new koni yellow adj. shocks and springs, bmw replica 17"s, good stereo system, AND spare whole E34, genuine BMW M-tech aero body kit, 2 sets of racing dynamic rims, and all parts required for a manual conversion except the gearbox, clutch and flywheel, which i can still source easily for $500 plus shipping, and theres more mods and repairs done aswell, i'm looking at swaps for a manual turbo car again, most likely a nissan

Why don't u manual and turbo your car. U have the m30b35 which even with some low boost she would b a rocket. I'm planning on a turbo in my e34 once I sort and have the m3 back on the road. I have a tuned lenght manifold for it already just need an internally gated gt30 then I'm away
