thanks, not long. We could short cut a few things and drive it today but despite how eager I am to drive it, happy to wait until everything is done in a neat and tidy fashion. Would rather get it all done now so that once its on the road I can enjoy it for a while.

After 19 months of pain and some very late nights lately I got to go for my first drive tonight at 1am.

The exhaust leaks and it is not running 100% but as many have sung, hallelujah!

After taking it easy and making sure there weren't any serious problems naturally I gave it a few squirts and it has such an old school cool feel about it.

Better than I could have imagined. The power feels raw like an worked small block chev powered beast yet is delivered silky smooth like any other quad cam 32v V8.

I have managed to fluke the exhaust first go. Absolutely sensational V8 roar under load and as quiet as a stock M20 when cruising. And that was set in "quiet mode".

Even though it is on stilts at present the car feels fantastic with the Bilsteins and other new suspension bits and pieces.

Now the next challenge is going to be deciding on,

    a. Go to sleep and get up early
    b. Go for another drive, then go to sleep and get up at normal time
    c. Leave for work now and go via Healesville
    d. Call in sick and visit Lorne via Healesville

Heart says c or d, brain is says a or b

j/k main mission now is to get the final engineers inspection done asap.

Big thanks go to Marc (Cplagz) for the tech support lately, Vaughan (V) for his help from start to finish, Alan (MorerevsM3) for the random parts along the way.

ps I cant believe I beat Marc and Jake

Thanks guys, Ade I am a good boy and at work. I drive approx 45-50 mins to work through the twisties of central vic which is normally a pleasure but today was sensational!!!!!

I have never enjoyed driving to work so much before.

aurace, I used CRS bellhousing and flywheel. If you think it sounds good in that vid, wait until you hear it under load
