I worked it out that there is about 30kgs of sound deadening in the car. My aim is to get it as light as i can, good luck ever being able to talk to anyone in this car. I think the sounds will drown you out!

    IT RUNS!!
After any 4 letter words, replacing bits of pipe i got it going! The fuel tank is a jam jar so the car will only ruin for about a minute before it ran out of fuel. Check out the video i took. i love the sound, i can't wait to fire it up when the kids in the school next door are out for lunch time play! lol

    cheers

    Awesome! Good work.

You gonna keep the K-jet fuel pump? It might die after a little while 'coz you'll have to hold bak 90% of the pressure.

If you're not using a fuel pressure regulator you're carbies might get damaged...

good to know that sound deadener weighs so much, i pulled all mine off before the paint but never thoughtto weigh it.
i pulled it off chasing rust and thought i would take it all off.
good work getting it running too.

I'm getting a fuel pressure regulator is weekend. I'm not sure on the details of the fuel pump, but from what I'm told it's a bit of a dinosaur. I may well replace it with a pump made for cabies with a lower pressure any way.

I got the car because of it's motor, i would like to keep the body as it's a '77 from the first year run i'm told.

The motor us running 10 to 1 compression with a more aggressive cam, I'm not sure on the exact angles. The car also has a log book, as it used to be a rally car, and was used until about 2003/04, then sold and left to sit.

I remember pulling it all out of my uncles rally car when i was a kid. It was one of the first things to go when we go the new shell.

Now i just have to straighten out the sway bat mounts and i drive it around the block. i might have to remove the windows, there are held in with there own weight, lol.

    cheers

Now i have looked at wiki and it does say '75 to '83. still it's an old car and older then most e21s.

    update:
More sound deadening removed, i still have to to the foot wells, fire wall (both sides) and the trans tunnel.
A/C is out, all of it now. the pump was in the boot when i got the car. Any one wants it it's up for sale.
Fuel pump will be replaced soon. Dad reckoned that we could just put a valve in and regulate the pressure, did work and got a face full of petrol when the line burst! so i need a new fuel pump. suggestions?

    cheers

Facet make low pressure high volume pumps. They're excellent quality.
