I like it. I see nothing wrong with using Jap motors in euro cars if it is more worthwhile as far as power/budget goes. And the Nissan/Toyota sixes are great motors. Probably would have cost 3 times as much to use a Merc six cylinder instead and not as quick.
No longer a euro owner...miss it but cannot afford it at the moment.
The missus drives a Volvo V70 wagon - does this count??? LOL!

Can't beat the toyota 1JZ or 2JZ. I have a chaser with the late model single turbo VVti 1JZ and it is a pleasure to drive. Low down torque, lots of power. Good choice in engine

Great car. I was looking at the 7mge for mine but yours is a much better engine. How did the engine go for clearance e.g. chassis, steering box, firewall and tunnel, sump?

The tunnel needed to be made a little bigger, you MUST! have a front sump.
apart from that its straight in.

How did you get on for the speedo drive - electronic to manual? Also, looking at the front brakes, I assume you've installed bigger merc discs, were those nissan calipers hard to fit?

Got the car running today, still a couple little things to be fixed up, but it isnt to far from being on the road. Was awesome to hear it run at last! Made me think the stress and money might be worth it in the end.

Hi, greetings from Thailand. Thats a very nice conversion, especially with manual box.

Over here the 1JZ and 2JZ are shoved into just about anything rear wheel drive due to the low cost and longevity of the motor. The 1JZ-GTE stock is quick, but with a big single is a real beast, it roars ! I did a 1JZ-GTE single into an Opel (Holden) a couple of years ago, it was a monster.

Now I have a more sedate 280SE (W126) with 2JZ-GE (non turbo) that is my daily driver.

    Miss the turbo though.

Also take a look at this,190 with 1JZ-GTE, just came up for sale here
