According to this the E32 factory pump should be able to supply 360hp ish, and more then likely more, due to factory % rating.

This put my mind to rest that the E32 factory pump will be able to supply enough fuel to the 2j.

Worst case down the track I can drop a Walbro in there or a pair should I get the urge to pull some numbers.

Well here are some images of the cut. Appears to be in pretty good nick, though I have a feeling it may have been water blasted.

Can't wait to get back and start stripping it.

    Hey Ben,

Any time i think im crazy enough to start another project i'll let ya know.

Maybe a 5 series with an RB20 or RB25 in it would be nice...haha

The front-cut looks in good nick, so hopefully the transition period will be quick? Now is there any chance that you might complete this project before the other one??

Wayno... Time frame on this one is mid January I want it running... Cut appears to be in great nick. No frontal damage, only dissassembly.

E30 won't be running till mid next year being realistic. LOTS to do on E30...

Picked up an intercooler last night, just a little 400x300x100 BnP.. hopefully can squeeze it behind the front bar.

hehe I doubt I'd be able to be persuaded to help put an RB in anything mate :P When not come to the 'relliable' side Toyota...

You know i might just consider that...

but then i might need a bigger place...as i already have the ute (still), the 4wd and eventually the E30 when i get her back.

Managed to get some work done after the rain yesterday....

First thing I did was remove the 50+kgs of std exhaust (weight saving)

Got the engine and tranny ready for removal also, will pull it out and hopefully get the 2jz out tomorrow and get it into the hole to design mounts etc...

Today was spent on the aristo cut, getting it ready as my help wasn't here to assit with lifitng the BMW engine out.

I've got the 2jz to a state where it's ready to be lifted out also, so hopefully tonight I'll get the M30 out and the 2JZ in.

    Problems arisen thus far:-

No room to 'hide' cooler behind front bar. I'll be needing to cut the centre section out and mount the cooler poking through the bar Cooler size will be 400(wide) x 300(tall) x 100(thick), 3inch in and out. It will hang around 20mm past the factory lip, and will need the section between the fog lights under the bar to be removed.

Piping will tuck around and up the inside of the chassis rail on each side behind the radiator.

Second issue, BMW chassis rails are around 720mm apart, which isn't wide enough by about 50mm ish to fit the Aristo radiator I'm thinking I'll shorten the Aristo hydraulic fan and shroud assembly and fasten this to the BMW radiator. Piping locations aren't drastically different, and I'll be trying to mount the Aristo hydraulic fan cooler where the factory BMW engine oil cooler sits just under the radiator. Toyota tranny cooler lines will be attached to the BMW tranny cooler location in the radiator tank. Std overflow location might be inadequate for the 2jz engine location, but will address when engine in place.

Third potential issue might be clashing between oil filter and the BMW ABS, so this will come out... not likely . Should I need to I'll use a remote oil filter mount.

Guessed potential issue between dump pipie outlet and steering box. If required I'll fabricate a new dump pipe section to get this out of the way.

Got the 2jz out this morning, by dragging the cut from under the engine hanging from the engine crane The crane bogged down into the ground and couldn't be budged, so we used a 4wd to pull the cut from under it. One of the none niceties of doing this at a residence rather then a workshop...

Have a photo of the M30 as removed from the car, warts and all. I left the transmission in place and we lifted it out on an angle.

I'll be dropping the 2jz into the hole tonight and getting relative locations of mounts etc to design up some engine mounts that I will hopefully be able to fabricate tomorrow. The transmisson mount providing the rubber mount line up reasonalby close will be a notch and fill with plate, most probably 8mm or I might get away with 6mm depending on how much material I remove from the BMW mount.

Of note is that the M30 E32 engien mounts appear to be substantially forward when compared to the E30 mounts. I'm not sure how people get around this when fitting M30's to E30's?
