Wow this is a great project!!

Does it see much road time or do you have issues with the boys in blue??

    coilovers arrived today..

They're BC Coilovers (BR model) to suit all e36's. First impression is they feel like a good quality item, cant wait to install.

Track day coming up on 23/5, so there's the deadline

Post up your thoughts on the coilovers when you have given them a good hitout please!!
Im seriously considering getting some, as my mate with a Mazda Familia has just got them and my King Spring/Bilstein shock setup isnt as good as I would have hoped..

racing at Queensland raceway on 23/5..

Looks like the coilovers will go on sunday, so i'll post my thoughts on road driveability soon after.

At this stage no aftermarket swaybars or strut braces, so when those go on in the near future, i'd hope to corner even flatter

Get urethane bushes for the swaybars, see how they go with the new springs and shocks.
I know on an E24 you have to strengthen the swaybar links and link mounts, I don't know about the E30 though.

im starting to think about a sr conversion, any chance you would mind asking how much you were charged for the installation (minus running gear?) - just want to get a sort of ballpark figure

I'd expect to pay alot more from a custom garage. Other quotes I got (ie Rolin imports, down the coast) wanted about $6000 incl materials + around $x for a front cut.

coilovers are installed (took a little over an hour for the front, and 2hrs for the rear - perfect fit with no issues at all)

holy crap! what a difference, a completely different car to drive.

they were set at the lowest ride height, which basically equals the same height as the king springs i had installed. But the car takes corners like a go cart now, no body roll or anything.
the ride is very firm, but not harsh like i was expecting.. you feel the road alot more, but bumps wont throw you out of your seat.

can't wait for the track - might get sway bars and strut braces before then. e46 328i brakes will go on as soon as i get the rotors and pads.. oh yeh and tyres :S
