Hey guys have myself a bit of a problem. I have somehow pulled the bonnet cable right out and can't open the bonnet now. Is there any way to open the bonnet now? With old bmws you can slot a screw driver through the grill to unlock the bonnet, however I can't find a way to do this on the 944. ...
Need some advice on 911's... Have always loved the older Porsche's and am considering buying one. Want to spend $50-$60k max. What years/ models should i target and are there any in particular to steer clear from? Thanks
Just wondering if anyone knows if 18x10x54mm offset will go on a 97 ' 993 targa? cheers gaza
This is probably one that you've all seen before but it's good to look back to when work place health and safety was reserved for the fiction section and real cars, along with the greatest engineering skills from Germany, produced the most insane cars with the singular purpose of going fast at any...
1980 3.3litre turbo model. Any major issues about them?
Hi, i'm not very mechanically minded, ie i don't know sh*t about cars, so please bear with me. I just bought a '99 boxster from brisbane and spent two days driving it down and noticed a couple of things the car's speedometer is incorrect. eg it reads 100kph when the gps is reporting 95kph....
I need new brake pads and &^(^%(*&^*( Porsche Melbourne won't be able to change them till AUGUST! Since I don't feel like driving around for 1 month with my low brake pad warning light on, I thought I would go somewhere else. Any recommendations?
G'day Guys, This is my first post over here on eurocca - so I will try and make it short and sweet (not even sure if there is much activity in the forum)... I have owned an 85' Porsche 944 for just over 18 months now - cannot fault the thing, only an NA but such a fun car to drive... However...
Hi forum, Just sending this post on behalf of a porsche owner. Its a Boxster s, he acquired about 3 months ago, its due for a service and he thinks the pads have gone, he lives on the north side of Sydney... Does anyone have a Porsche specialist they use, and that does not cost an arm and a...

Anybody recommend someone they've used out there? Would prefer south of the bridge, but happy to hear suggestions... :dknow
Spotted a carrera GT at my old work. the amount of carbon fibre is amazing the complete undertrays and rear diffuser in carbon fibre? you wouldn't want to go over any speedbumps or loose gravel. it's in brisbane if anyone wants a peep. pure sex on wheels. still!
Hey all, Bit of an odd one, Driving home today - Got to the garage, went to put her in reverse - NO GO!! Its weird.. Its not like it crunches or grinds etc when it tries to go in (can't even put it in when the car is off).. Its like Reverse isn't actually there, like to FEEL the lever go...
Hey all, I've just got the one key for my (73) 911 and its looking a bit worse for wear. Im going to get a new one cut but have a few quick questions first: 1. Can you get original Blank Porsche keys? (to get them cut). If so, where? and rough $$$?? 2. Because I can't get a key cut off...
Oh please, please, please, please, please, let this be the right section to post such a question!!! :D Does anyone know of places that specialise in older Porsches, wreckers or collectors that may have bits hanging in the garage?
Hi, I have googled this but cannot find any info on it. I am considering a 996 GT3 cup car as a track car. They are all LHD and dedicated race cars obviously. I have read a story where a guy converted a GT3 into cup spec to race and then reverted it back to normal spec for road use but it was...
I've heard they are prone to exploding when the car backfires. Thought about going for a pop-off valve, but I think the airbox is a big ugly thing, so thought about replacing it. Has anyone done it? Any pics?
Hey guys Just wondering if anyone would know why my 1983 944 has a noisy whine on cold start up, it seems to go quiet when warmed up. I have heard other 944s do the same thing. Does it have something to do with the timing belt/tensioner or just a noisy belt? The car is up for a major (100000km)...

Hi All. I love 911's. Got my eye set on a 1999 model. Ive been warned by most mechanics to STAY AWAY as they are very costly to maintain. On the other hand, i've been told they are made to last and are very reliable. I wont be driving the car too and from work. Most driving will be on...
Hi again guys. Recently took the plunge & bought myself a nice '86 944(2.5 8v) - loving it thus far! Most comfortable, fun to drive, and best-built car I've ever owned. The one problem I've got though... There seems to be nobody in the Wollongong area who knows a damn thing about 944s. That...
Hi Does anyone know th best place to get Porsche N rated tyres in Perth. Most places dont know about them, but looking to get proper tyres on my 996 Turbo. Cheers
Guys, I'm after someone to inspect a car for me. Problem is I'm in Sydney and only know of reputable specialists locally and in Melbourne. The car is a late 80s Carrera, want someone to check it for leaks, compression test, brake tests and general conditioning. Any tips?
The age old debate... I have been looking at 993 and 996 Porsches. Particularly turbos however being that 993 turbos are so ridiculously expensive compared to 996's i dunno... I am still considering standard carreras but would love a turbo in either model. I LOVE the 993 shape, especially the...
Hello to you all from the land down under! I hope that some one could shed light on the following problem. I have been asked to provide a report on the failure of the gearbox to shifter cable from a Cayman S. Has anyone experienced such a fault or is this a rare occurrence ? Any help...
